We had the pleasure of cleaning and overhauling a Father Willis organ of 1868 at Waltham St. Lawrence near Reading. In the 1950's the mechanical action to the Pedal department had been changed to pneumatic and five extra pipes were added so that a standard 30-note pedalboard could be installed. This work was very badly designed and we have now changed the action back to mechanical including the five extra pipes.

We have also refurbished a one manual and pedal organ at East Garston near Hungerford. This was badly infested with woodworm which had been in the blower casing for many years. The organ now looks as it did when new.

We are currently working on a fairly large two-manual and pedal organ by Haskins at Wroughton near Swindon. This is on a pneumatic action but because the Pedal department has got to be moved and enlarged we are changing this section to an electro-pneumatic action. At the moment it has an Open Diapason 16' and a Bourdon 16' and we will be adding a Principal 8' extended to a Fifteenth 4' and a Bass Flute 8' extended to a Flute 4'.

We are also adding a Fifteenth 2' and a Clarinet 8' to the Great department on a slider chest with a pneumatic underaction. The Swell Double Diapason will be discarded, the existing Oboe 8' replanted in its place to tenor C and then a new bottom octave installed to give a Contra Oboe 16'. A Sesquialtera II (12/17) will be planted on the old oboe slide.

Naturally there is a great deal of re-leathering to do on the exisiting pneumatic action and the whole job is going to take quite a long while.
